Codexx legal client is the 21st most innovative law firm in Europe

16th October 2008

The 2008 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers awards, held at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on 16 October, announced that Blake Lapthorn is now the 21st most innovative law firm in Europe. The firm rose 18 places in the rankings, from its 2007 position. The firm was commended for 4 project areas covering new services and ways of working including a new 'Life Coaching Offering' and 'FirmJam' an internal brainstorming week run on the firm's intranet. Alison McClure, Transformation Partner, said: "The team have done a really good job this year in implementing our various Innovation projects and it's extremely rewarding to see that all our hard work has received such great recognition in today's FT Innovative Lawyers report. We will continue to generate our Innovation projects, which play a key part in the firm's ongoing development." Codexx Manufacturing client achieves World Class practice

Codexx is pleased to announce that Grundfos A/S, the world leading pump manufacturer, has achieved a World Class level of manufacturing practices in its Danish factories according to the PROBE model. Alastair Ross, Director of Codexx, who led the recent benchmarking assessment at Grundfos said: "I have led regular best practice benchmarking assessments, at Grundfos since 1996 and have witnessed first-hand the major improvement effort and results achieved by their people. Their focus and sustained resourcing of improvement activities should be a lesson to all manufacturers. It has been a pleasure to work with Grundfos and apply methods such as benchmarking, world class manufacturing and Lean, to gain measureable and major improvement." Grundfos A/S won the EFQM award in 2006 and continues to drive improvements across its manufacturing operations.



Codexx certified as CENTRIM partner for 'Managing Innovation' training

Codexx has been certified as a training partner for the 'Managing Innovation' training course developed by Dr David Francis of CENTRIM (Centre for Research in Innovation Management) at the University of Brighton and Barnes & Conti Inc. This unique course provides training in key skills across the innovation cycle. It is based on research conducted by Dr Francis with over 100 innovative organisations world-wide to identify common skills that were key to effective innovation. Alastair Ross, Director of Codexx said: " I am pleased that we are able to offer this excellent course to clients - as far as we know, this is a unique course, and complements our other innovation solutions. Codexx legal client 'Highly Commended' in Financial Times innovation award

Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons' innovation process, developed together with Codexx, has been Highly Commended in this year's Financial Times Innovative Lawyer Awards.  The FT's report comments that: "No one could accuse Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons of not taking innovation seriously. It has created a comprehensive management process, covering every element of the innovation cycle, from idea generation through concept definition and validation to development, pilot and launch, with clear metrics in place to monitor success."



Codexx open office in Second Life

12th July 2007

Codexx announced the opening of an office in Second Life, the fast growing online virtual community which is seeing increasing use by progressive businesses. "We will be using the office to provide an additional point of contact to Codexx services for businesses and more importantly to experiment with new ways of working, working with our clients and partners," said Alastair Ross, Director of Codexx.

Launch of 'Innovation Leadership Training' course

12th March 2007

Codexx announced the launch of a new 1-day course on Innovation Leadership. Designed for managers and employees tasked with managing and leading innovation programmes or projects within organisations, the course provides education and training in best practices approach to innovation. The course covers innovation theory, models, tools and case studies, with the emphasis on enabling attendees to return to their organisations and be more effective in their innovation projects.



Codexx purchases supply chain solutions from Supply Chain Analytics

15th February 2007

Codexx announced the purchase of the supply chain strategy and assessment solutions business from Supply Chain Analytics Ltd. This includes the SCAN supply chain assessment solution. Codexx completes study on innovation in major UK law firms

17th January 2007

Tanaka Business School at Imperial College London, hosted the presentation of the report on 'Innovation in major UK law firms', resulting from a joint study performed by Alastair Ross, Director of Codexx and John Bessant, Professor of Innovation Management at Tanaka Business School, Imperial College and supported by AIM Research. The audience comprised executives and partners from representatives of the 16 top 75 UK law firms who took part in the study. Alastair Ross said, "This unique study focused on an area of increasing importance to all law firms as they seek to compete in increasingly challenging markets."



Codexx announces new assessment solution for supply chain management

Codexx in government report on emerging markets in the environmental sector

Codexx played a key role in the research behind a new government environmental report, "Emerging markets in the environmental sector - November 2006". As the consulting partner for UKCEED, who compiled the report, Codexx were responsible for defining and running fast-track scenario development and strategic road-mapping workshops with industry experts. Codexx Announces new SPARK assessment offering

Centre for Sustainable Engineering launched

The UK Centre for Economic and Environmental Development (UKCEED) announced the launch of the Centre for Sustainable Engineering. The Centre for Sustainable Engineering (CSEng) is a new national initiative established by UKCEED to support businesses developing innovative and more sustainable technologies. The Centre is designed to exploit the opportunities offered by significant predicted growth in demand for many sustainable technologies, both in the UK and internationally. Codexx is pleased to have been involved in the development of the centre. Reflecting on Codexx’s role in the project, Jonathan Selwyn, Executive Director, UKCEED said "Codexx played a key role in helping UKCEED explore the feasibility of its concept for the Centre for Sustainable Engineering. The consultancy also helped develop an outline business model which played an important role in securing public funding for the Centre."

Codexx Director becomes Chairman of IEE Manufacturing Professional Network

Alastair Ross, Director of Codexx Associates Ltd, became Chairman of the Institute of Electrical Engineers Manufacturing Professional Network after accepting the nomination of the Executive Panel. He will lead the executive in working to improve the offerings to the manufacturing community served by the IEE.
