Codexx announced the purchase of the supply chain strategy and assessment solutions business from Supply Chain Analytics Ltd. This includes the SCAN supply chain assessment solution. Alastair Ross, Director of Codexx, said: “This is a valuable addition to our existing range of best practice strategy and assessment tools and allows us to further extend our existing services in innovation and supply chain management.”

Tanaka Business School at Imperial College London, hosted the presentation of the report on ‘Innovation in major UK law firms’, resulting from a joint study performed by Alastair Ross, Director of Codexx and John Bessant, Professor of Innovation Management at Tanaka Business School, Imperial College and supported by AIM Research. The audience comprised executives and partners from representatives of the 16 top 75 UK law firms who took part in the study. Alastair Ross said, “This unique study focused on an area of increasing importance to all law firms as they seek to compete in increasingly challenging markets.”

To help Codexx industrial clients assess their supply chain operations and strategies against best practices, as part of an improvement programme, Codexx has made available the SCAN supply chain assessment, developed with its partner Supply Chain Analytics Ltd in conjunction with British Standards Institute and Nottingham University. SCAN enables a detailed assessment against key supply chain best practices.

Codexx played a key role in the research behind a new government environmental report, “Emerging markets in the environmental sector – November 2006″. As the consulting partner for UKCEED, who compiled the report, Codexx were responsible for defining and running fast-track scenario development and strategic road-mapping workshops with industry experts. Our work provided Case Studies and analysis for the important Contaminated Land Remediation and Environmentally Smart Buildings sectors.

Codexx Associates Ltd announces ‘Foundations for Innovation’ following the successful pilot of key components in an Industrial company and a Professional Services firm. F4i is a modular solution providing innovation auditing and the implementation of key foundations for an innovation system and supporting environment in an organisation. F4i was developed with the support of Professor John Bessant at Imperial College London. It enables organisations to assess their innovation practices and performance against world class standards and so focus improvement activities.

The UK Centre for Economic and Environmental Development (UKCEED) announced the launch of the Centre for Sustainable Engineering. The Centre for Sustainable Engineering (CSEng) is a new national initiative established by UKCEED to support businesses developing innovative and more sustainable technologies. The Centre is designed to exploit the opportunities offered by significant predicted growth in demand for many sustainable technologies, both in the UK and internationally. Codexx is pleased to have been involved in the development of the centre. Reflecting on Codexx’s role in the project, Jonathan Selwyn, Executive Director, UKCEED said “Codexx played a key role in helping UKCEED explore the feasibility of its concept for the Centre for Sustainable Engineering. The consultancy also helped develop an outline business model which played an important role in securing public funding for the Centre.”

Alastair Ross, Director of Codexx Associates Ltd, became Chairman of the Institute of Electrical Engineers Manufacturing Professional Network after accepting the nomination of the Executive Panel. He will lead the executive in working to improve the offerings to the manufacturing community served by the IEE.

Codexx Associates Ltd and Supply Chain Analytics Ltd signed a collaborative agreement in the area of supply chain optimisation. This will provide for Codexx to market and sell Supply Chain Analytics offerings. Supply Chain Analytics provides technologies and methods to help companies optimise their supply chains. Their core offering is the Zemeter supply chain optimisation suite.
